Ashling McCosker, LCSW
Assistant Clinical Director

Ashling McCosker, LCSW is the Assistant Clinical Director of City Behavioral Health. She earned her BA in Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and her Masters in Social Work from New York University with an emphasis on substance use, addiction, and co-occurring disorders.

Although Ashling has experience with all ages, she specializes in working with young adults (ages 18-30) and their families. For over a decade, Ashling has worked with clients in Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization settings. Most recently, Ashling served as Assistant Director of The Dorm on the Upper West Side, where adolescents and young adults received intensive integrated treatment in a unique community-based setting. Ashling maintained a clinical caseload while serving as Clinical Supervisor and then Assistant Clinical Director. Earlier in her career, Ashling held several positions at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation where her work focused on the treatment of addiction with both emerging and older adults. Ashling had leadership and supervisory roles at Hazelden and is passionate about supervising clinicians and supporting a team in the complex challenges associated with therapeutic work.

In addition to her background in addiction and complex mental health treatment, Ashling is an experienced behavioral clinician as well as accomplished group psychotherapist. She has completed Marsha Lineman’s Foundational DBT Training through Behavioral Tech. Ashling has advanced clinical training in group psychotherapy, and will soon be credentialed as a Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP). Ashling completed intensive training in exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with The International OCD Foundation.
