
Who We Are
Lindsay Chester, LCSW, CASAC is the Founder and Clinical Director of City Behavioral Health. She earned her BA from the George Washington University and her Masters in Social Work from Fordham University with an emphasis on addiction and co-occurring psychiatric disorders.
Lindsay has extensive experience working in addiction treatment in both a clinical and research capacity and has worked in inpatient and outpatient treatment settings. Lindsay has held several positions at the world-renowned Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation where her clinical work focused on the treatment of addiction with emerging adults [18-35] and their families..
Ashling McCosker, LCSW is the Assistant Clinical Director of City Behavioral Health. She earned her BA in Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and her Masters in Social Work from New York University with an emphasis on substance use, addiction, and co-occurring disorders.
Although Ashling has experience with all ages, she specializes in working with young adults (ages 18-30) and their families. For over a decade, Ashling has worked with clients in Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization settings. Most recently, Ashling served as Assistant Director of The Dorm on the Upper West Side, where adolescents and young adults received intensive integrated treatment in a unique community-based setting. Ashling maintained a clinical caseload while serving as Clinical Supervisor and then Assistant Clinical Director. Earlier in her career, Ashling held several positions at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation where her work focused on the treatment of addiction with both emerging and older adults. Ashling had leadership and supervisory roles at Hazelden and is passionate about supervising clinicians and supporting a team in the complex challenges associated with therapeutic work.
Joseph Cook, LMHC, Senior Clinician at City Behavioral Health earned his Bachelor’s degree from SUNY College at Oswego, and his Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Marist College.
Joseph was awarded “Most Outstanding Counselor 2015” from Marist College where he also served as an adjunct professor teaching graduate students about the importance of utilizing evidence-based practices in addiction and mental health treatment. His clinical experience in addiction treatment includes numerous positions in both inpatient and outpatient treatment settings. Most notedly, Joseph worked as a primary clinician at the world-renowned Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation.
Samantha Rohrbacher, LMSW, is a Senior Clinician at City Behavioral Health. Sam received her BA in Psychology from James Madison University and a Masters of Social Work from Columbia University. She has experience working with individuals receiving treatment at inpatient, residential, and outpatient levels of care. Sam has worked in various roles at the world renowned Silver Hill Hospital working with clients who struggle with addiction, mental health, and eating disorders.
Stephanie Kasen, LMHC, is a primary clinician at City Behavioral Health. Stephanie received her BS in Psychology from Santa Clara University and Master’s Degree from Hunter College. She has extensive training and experience in substance abuse treatment and post-graduate training from the Beck Institute in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Juliane Jonas, LMSW, is a primary clinician as well as the intake coordinator at City Behavioral Health. Jules received her BS in Allied Health Sciences from the University of Connecticut and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University. She has experience working in addiction and mental health treatment in clinical settings and world renowned treatment institutions including but not limited to: Silver Hill Hospital, McLean Hospital and Inter-Care. Jules has held many positions in both inpatient and outpatient levels of care at the nationally recognized Silver Hill Hospital.
Julie Katz, LCAT is a Clinician and Creative Arts Therapist at City Behavioral Health. Julie received her BFA in Drama and her Master's Degree in Drama Therapy, both from NYU. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in both intensive outpatient programs and outpatient clinical settings for both individual and group treatment.
Karina is our practice manager, she is originally from South Florida. Received her Bachelor's from Florida Atlantic University in Exercise Science and Health Promotion. She is currently working on her Masters in Psychology at Arizona State University.
Riley is a Lab-Boxer rescue. She was trained as a therapy dog by The Good Dog Foundation. Riley has shown to be an invaluable member of the CBH team, particularly focusing her work on helping to lower client’s baseline anxiety when talking about difficult subjects. Riley also helps individuals to feel grounded when processing trauma or managing emotional dysregulation while in session.
